How to change an egr valve pressure sensor on a 2001 ford ranger?

chevy man is right on some, others are just a senosr that sticks into the hose and is removable by pulling off of the hoses (disconnect first)

best thing is, if it's bolted in, is to also get the hoses from Ford. On the 3.0s should be in front.

Also this was about the year they changed from aluminum to plastic colored sensor, so just look for the tube from exhaust manifold to engine, should have two hoses on it.. trace the hoses to the end..at the end is that DPFE sensor.

These guys are both right, just wanted to add that both of the

hoses on the valve are different diameters, so you can't get it

wrong when plugging them back on the valve ports. If you are

going to replace them, measure the length, because Ford doesn't sell them already cut to size, they have it in bulk.

Hope this helps. How to change an egr valve pressure sensor on a 2001 ford ranger?
Seems to pop into mind that there was a recall on those. and the hoses to it also

Piece of cake really clip on clip off BUT you have to know what you're looking at.

Very hard to describe on the internet.

Take it to the Dealer you might get it for free! How to change an egr valve pressure sensor on a 2001 ford ranger?
2 small bolts and 2 vacuum (silicone) hoses. unscrew the bolts, wiggle off the hoses (replace if needed) and let it eat. dont remember if yours had the alum or plastic sensor....usually located just above the drivers side exhaust manifold if i remember correctly on the v6s...

been too long since i was looking at a ford i am afraid..
